A few weeks ago a friend of mine handed me a big ziplock bag full of coins and one dollar bills - a donation for H2O Runners. Her four children along with a friend of theirs decided, on their own, to raise money to fight the water crisis. These five children heard us talking about the lack of clean water in Africa during several church services and they wanted to help.
They set up a water balloon stand in their neighborhood. They sold water balloons and told their neighbors about how people in Africa don't have clean water. They raised $50. That means there are 50 people in Africa who will have clean water for one year. And, their parents didn't even know they were doing this - they did it totally on their own.
These five children used one of their last summer days to help people on the other side of the world and in doing so they drastically affected the health and well being of at least 50 people.
Talk about inspiring!
